What are the inner reverberations of emigration?
Dispersed Entanglement draws attention to the inner process of relocation and the brokenness it calls forth. There are many reasons for people leaving their own country, every story is different. No matter what the motivations are: if it is a necessity, a new beginning, hope for better opportunities, adventure etc., it will always leave a mark on the life of individuals and their surroundings. The aftermath varies. In some cases, it results in new relationships, exciting career opportunities and new collaborations, but it can also cause a lack of belonging, the feeling of always being in-between places, re-learning the rules of survival, figuring out new bureaucratic labyrinths and dealing with mental health issues.
The aim of this project is to look at this brokenness from another perspective, tame it down and create beauty out of it. All the shattered (/fragmented) pieces will create something whole, something bigger. After all this is the beauty of emigration, that all the differences, cultures are coming together and shaping something completely new and fascinating.
