Anna Clementi – voice | Heiko Michels – guitar
Vocal artistry – that’s what specialist media call Anna Clementi‘s singing style. The “actress of the voice” is just as present on European opera stages with her interpretations of contemporary music as she is at performances in clubs and experimental theaters.
Together with guitarist and theater scholar Heiko Michels, she is now exploring a shared passion: the songs of Brecht, in settings by Dessau, Eisler or Weill. Michels’ non-classical-classical guitar wanders between flamenco, grunge and new music, driving the vocals onto fiery barricades, into lovely valleys and libidinous performances. The result is an untimely alchemy with which the two performers throw Becht’s songs into the now.
This winter, Anna and Heiko will be visiting various venues with their new program, allowing the performance to be modulated and sharpened by the characteristics and profiles of each space. On Friday the 13th, they hope for productive accidents, the songs will be opened at various nodes and placed as a surface in the space for experimental music, the White Cube of Liebig12.
This is not a public concert, but an experimental series. Admission as a contribution towards expenses with joy and charm on leaving.
